Mike Jarman founded Secure Electrans in 1999. Mike developed the concept for solving the problems associated with card not present (CNP) transactions and brought together a group of experienced executives from the payment processing systems and energy industries to launch the business. Mike was responsible for drawing up the business plan and the strategic plan for protecting the company's Intellectual Property Rights, as well as overseeing the pertinent Patent applications. Secure Electrans has succeeded in registering international Patents on the process and concept of the company's solution for card not present (CNP) transactions.
Mike has considerable experience in developing payment systems, having established Cresta Communications Limited, which set up the United Kingdom's first retail electronic credit card verification / electronic point of sale (EPOS solution) and data capture systems in 1982. He is the former President and C.O.O. of Canadian debit/credit terminal developer and manufacturer International Verifact Inc (IVI), where he completed a major turnaround. International Verifact is now the North American division of Ingenico, the French payment systems group. Prior to establishing Secure Electrans he was Chairman and CEO of Phonettix Intelecom Limited, Canada's pre-eminent developer of sophisticated interactive voice response systems for in-home banking and in-home payments.
